WebSite Updates!


I had a laundry list of things I had been wanting to do with my website for a long time and I finally got around to doing it. For starters I upgraded to Wordpress 2.7 to take advantage of all the new features and streamlined dashboard. Here is the rest of what is new:

  • I made all my posts so they just show excerpts as this will make it easier to scan the homepage and find what you want.
  • I updated all my pages and posts to show the updated time as well as the posted time.
  • I modified the pictures page to show my flickr pictures as well as those stored in slideshowpro
  • I added a videos page (currently this only has old videos from NZ but I should put up more soon)
  • I added a recommended reading page which shows my latest bookmarks posted to Diigo
  • I added a tag cloud to the sidebar as I think tags are quite often more useful than categories
  • I added some information to the about page including a list of all my installed plugins because I hate going to a site, seeing a cool feature and then having to bother the site owner about what it is.
  • I also spent some time cleaning up the php code on a lot of the pages in the site.
