I cannot stand IVR systems when I call in to get help. Give me the number pushing any day (as long as I can press 0 to speak to someone). If you hate them as much as I do, lifehack.org came up with a good article to talk to a person immediately after calling.

Let me start by saying that I am all for safety and think that talking with a cellphone while driving is not the best choice to make but if you are going to do it, a hands free headset is a good way to go. From what I understand, Bluetooth phones have very good reception and make a great choice for a headset. But people, can you please just leave it in the car?! It is a headset for crying out loud! Lets have a look at some of the places it should not be worn:
Church: Now why exactly do you keep that ear piece in during the service? Is it to annoy the heck out of people sitting next to you when someone calls and it lights up like the Griswolds house on crack? I mean lets face it: Jesus is not going to give you a buzz while you sing worship songs. Do everyone a favor and keep it in your car.
At the mall: No. You do not look cool strolling amongst the stores with a flashing piece of plastic stuck to the side of your head. Are you so vain that you need to give off the impression of being that important that someone is going to call you at any minute?! After which you carry on through the mall blubbering on, blissfully ignorant of the laughs at coming at your expense.
My hat is off to the people in marketing that succeeded in making the Bluetooth tech a status symbol. Really well done! In any case: in the future, please, please, please do yourself a favor and save the Bluetooth headset for the car; it isn’t necessary to wear it anywhere else.
