About

Experience

I attended Western Washington University, graduating Cum Laude in the Spring of 2003 with a BA in Business, concentration in Management Information Systems. I have over 7 years experience developing databases, deploying websites, and have even setup VSATs in remote areas of Tanzania. Those years of experience have covered a multitude of disciplines ranging from technical documentation, database design, graphics, testing, and deployment. Most recently I have found myself working with Flash/Flex and PHP. I love being able to present data in ways that are meaningful to the end user by taking advantage of the powerful Flash+PHP+MySQL combination. Of course I also have experience on the creative side of Flash as well. :)

Philosophy

My experience has exposed me to all sorts of technology and various implementations. This allows me to know when the application of one makes sense over the others. I am a huge proponent of wiki’s and the open method of conducting business having been an administrator of a wiki installation for the past few years using Atlassian’s Confluence at my day job. This has lead me to stand up an installation that the clients whom I work with have access to that helps manage the project to a successful conclusion.

I am not seeking new full time employment as I have a great job working for a non profit on a team full of talented people, but I do accept freelance jobs as you have need.

Don’t live your life conforming to rules laid out by our society and the media. Write your own script, your own lines… You only have one life to live, one chance at every day. Don’t try to fill a role you have set up for yourself, worrying about what others think, giving strangers so much power over you life as to influence you in how you live the one life you have been given. Every moment is a gift from above and should be treasured as we are not owed anything. These words, like many others you have read before, are now yours to do with what you will.
